About Project Baobab™
Project Baobab™ is a solar-powered, sovereign AI cloud infrastructure in Namibia, designed to enable local data processing, compute capacity, and long-term value creation within Africa.
The project is designed to deliver sovereign, reliable, and sustainable AI compute infrastructure for institutional, research, and public-sector use, addressing Africa’s growing need for secure digital infrastructure.
Unlike conventional AI platforms dependent on grid-based or offshore data centres, Project Baobab™ integrates renewable solar generation, energy storage, and AI compute infrastructure into a unified, co-designed system.
This infrastructure-first approach reduces operational risk, stabilises long-term energy costs, and enables high-availability AI compute infrastructure in regions where power and data constraints limit digital growth.
